2021 – A Positive Year for GIMO

Last year proved to be an extremely challenging 12 months across the globe. The Covid-19 pandemic continued to keep the planet in its grip and the world was a very different place now from what it was like in March 2020.

Despite all of these challenges, it made us think and work differently. Working from home became the norm and here at GIMO, it became part of our everyday lives.

The transition to working from home was extremely smooth and the benefits of this reaped their rewards in 2021 when GIMO became commended for the way they looked after their employees during a very turbulent period.

In May, GIMO received the Silver Award at the UK Employee Experience Awards (UEEA) in the Employee Centric Company category. Winning this award recognised the outstanding work GIMO had done in going above and beyond providing their employees an exceptional experience in the workplace.

The recognition didn’t stop there. GIMO were put forward for two other categories at the UEEA, including Employee Reward and Recognition and Best Company to Work For. This shows just how much GIMO values its employees and the benefits of a fantastic workplace experience showed within other areas of the business.

GIMO prides itself on the strong relationships forged with its clients and 2021 saw NetBet, a key cog in GIMO’s wheel, being nominated for the Social Responsibility of the Year award at the Global Gaming Awards.

NetBet were shortlisted due to their amazing work in promoting responsible gambling and teaching their customers many different ways to bet safely, with players being given the opportunity to participate in workshops to enable them to learn how to gamble in a secure environment.

In September, NetBet were yet again in the running for another prestigious award as the Compliance Team were nominated in the Team of the Year category at the VIXIO Gambling Compliance Global Regulatory Awards 2021.

The hard work from the compliance team ties in nicely with the work done promoting gambling responsibly and the work between GIMO and NetBet continues to evolve as the relationship between the two gets stronger.

Towards the end of the year, GIMO showed that they are leading the way when it comes to producing anti-money laundering strategies. The company played a key role at the Betting on Sport Europe conference in London in November and the latest anti-money laundering risks were highlighted during that conference. GIMO are certainly pioneering when it comes to alleviating those potential hazards and their hard work continues apace within this sector to keep anti-money laundering at bay.

One thing is for sure at GIMO – the hard work will not stop in 2022. If anything, 2022 promises to be an even more successful year for the business and the continued innovations that are being provided are a true inspiration in how to run a business successfully and keep the employee experience to the highest standard.
